Les enfants rêvent la ville

This book presents works by the pupils of about twenty classrooms ranging from nursery school to final year in the Région Centre. These pupils participated in the project "Children's Dream Cities" which took place from November 1998 to March 2000. Their models, drawings and texts offer divers visions of utopian cities.

Abstract

Texts written by teachers - the synthesis of a two years' reflection on the city around the FRAC Centre collection-, a critical essay by Thierry Paquot - chief editor of the review Urbanisme -, and an approach of the collection "Art et Architecture" written by the educational department of the FRAC Centre, complete the catalogue. Thus it can be used as training instrument for teachers and educators which will enable them to use the FRAC Centre collection "Art et Architecture".

This publication is the result of a fruitful collaboration with schools; it has been supported by the DRAC Centre, by the the Conseil Régional du Centre and by the Rectorat as well as by the IUFM.
